SUMBA - MANGKUDU - SAWU - ROTE

A surf charter for the adventurous and those searching for empty waves in pristine locations.

Starting from west Sumba we begin our journey with one of the better known Sumba surf spots but worth the visit because of the perfect rivermouth barrels to be found.

From there we follow a long stretch of coast as yet untouched by civilisation.  It's a coastline of wild jungle and majestic mountans, beautiful bays and sandy beaches.  There's so much surf potential here that we've found a new wave every visit!

Sumba leads to Mangkudu, a tiny island with some great surf that really gives you that feeling of surfing a desert island in the middle of the ocean. From Mangkudu it's on to Sawu and Raijua.  This really is remote indonesia. Two islands, hardly ever visited by outsiders and with a lot of potential for new surf to be found.

On to Rote, the home of T-land (aka Nembrella) which is a superb lefthander, peeling for hundreds of meters. Around Rote are numerous smaller islands, none of them accessible except by boat and empty waves guaranteed.
Unfortunately there are no scheduled dates available for this trip but we would be happy to organise a specialised charter. Please contact us for futher information.

The water is so clear it's like flying.
A perfect right-hander somewhere in Rote
Getting deep in the barrel in Sumba
Sumba perfection.
Rocking up at a new spot. Always a joy.
